We all have moments where we feel self-conscious – whether we’re having a bad day, our pants are a little tighter than they used to be, or something else. But so many people have a complete lack of self-love. Their life is plagued by insecurity and low self-esteem. That’s such a sad way to live!

A lack of self-love can cause so many problems in our lives, but that’s a post for another day. Today I wanted to talk about some of the amazing benefits of self-love.

1- You’ll be more emotionally stable.

When you love yourself, you’ll definitely have more emotional stability – which can positively affect many other areas of your life. You won’t have to seek validation or approval from others. You’ll be able to brush off criticism, judgment, and negativity from others. You’ll be able to live your life based on your opinions, not the opinions of anyone else.

2- You’ll have better resilience.

When you truly love yourself, you’ll be able to handle pretty much anything life throws at you. This is because self-love allows you to deal with life’s challenges better than you would if you were wallowing in self-loathing. You can’t always control what happens to you, but you can usually control how you respond when you’re living in self-love.

3- You’ll have much more personal freedom.

Again, you’ll be able to do what you want instead of what others want. So much of the time, we hold ourselves back from what we really want for fear of what other people will think. When you truly love yourself, that won’t happen anymore – or at least not as much.

I know you’ve probably heard tons of people say that you can’t truly love someone else until you love yourself, right? While I think that’s a nice thought, I don’t fully agree with it. When both partners love themselves, conflicts are more easily resolved, the relationship is more even, and the relationship is more productive.

Loving and appreciating yourself helps you love and appreciate life more. You’ll be a happier person overall. You’ll also be able to improve your life and do greater things.
